Visit Oakton Community College’s Des Plaines campus, nestled in the woods in the northern Chicago suburbs.  Celebrating its 50th anniversary, the college enrolls more than 7,600 credit students annually in a host of more than 80 career and transfer programs.  Two on campus tours are available for up to 22 participants per group, followed by a luncheon hosted by President Joianne Smith in the lobby of the Performing Arts Center.

• Fine Art and Museum Tour – visit of selections of the college’s vast art collection, including the Koehnline Museum of Art and new archival space. Guides will discuss how the collection is leveraged in instructional programs and community enrichment events throughout the year.

• Health and Science Tour – opened in 2015, the Margaret Burke Lee Science and Health Careers Center is a $40 million marquee project and emblem of technological advancement in education and environmental stewardship. Visit science and health career learning labs, the simulation hospital, and the campus’s outdoor classroom - all part of this LEED Gold certified learning environment.  Guides will also share how the facility is used to host events to stimulate interest in STEM careers.
